about

During these trying political times John Lennon's "Gimme Some Truth," rings true. We are living in a time where the current administration of these United States of America is attempting to strip away our personal rights and liberties. We cannot sit idly by and do nothing.

Our cover of Lennon's tune is our contribution to the resistance. All profits will be donated to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.

lyrics

I'm sick and tired of hearing things from
Uptight short sided narrow minded hypocrites
All I want is the truth, just give me some truth
I've had enough of reading [tweets]
By neurotic psychotic pigheaded politicians
All I want is the truth, just give me some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied
Son of tricky dicky's
Gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocket full of hopes
Money for dope, money for rope

No short-haired, yellow-bellied,
Son of [frumpy trumpy]
Gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocket full of hopes
Money for dope, money for rope

I'm sick to death of seeing things from
Tight-lipped condescending mama's little chauvinists
All I want is the truth, just give me some truth
I've had enough of watching scenes from
Schizophrenic egocentric paranoiac primadonnas
All I want is the truth just give me some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied,
Son of [frumpy trumpy]
Gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocket full of hopes
It's money for dope, money for rope

I'm sick to death of hearing things from
Uptight short sided narrow minded hypocrites
All I want is the truth, just give me some truth
I've had enough of reading [tweets]
By neurotic psychotic pigheaded politicians
All I want is the truth, just give me some truth
All I want is the truth, just give me some truth
All I want is the truth, just give me some truth

For nearly 100 years, the ACLU has been our nation’s guardian of liberty, working in courts, legislatures, and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and the laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country.

Whether it’s achieving full equality for LGBT people, establishing new privacy protections for our digital age of widespread government surveillance, ending mass incarceration, or preserving the right to vote or the right to have an abortion, the ACLU takes up the toughest civil liberties cases and issues to defend all people from government abuse and overreach.
